Overall Album Producer
Trina Belamide has been writing songs
professionally since 1991. Over fifty of her songs have been recorded by various Filipina
recording artists including Gary Valenciano and Regine Velasquez. She is also a
singer, vocal arranger and record producer. Her composition "Tell The
World Of His Love" was chosen among 85 other Filipino songs in 1994 to be the
Official of World Youth Day '95 when Pope John Paul II came to visit Manila and this song
was sung by literally millions of people from different countries during this historic
week. In late 1999 she won Overall Second Prize in the
USA Songwriting Competition with a very melancholic song called "Happy
Valentine's Day". The fact that this was the first time (and only time to date) that
an Asian won one of the top prizes in this international competition participated in by
more than 50 countries including the US. That year the organizers received more than
31,000 song entries.
Trina is the president of KATHA (the
Organisation of Filipino Composers) and is also a member of the Board of Directors of
FILSCAP (Filipino Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers).
